  • After her highly successful role debut as Färberin in a new production of Die Frau ohne Schatten in Nürnberg conducted by Joana Mallwitz her next huge project will be her debut as Brünnhilde in complete Ring cycles in Wiesbaden.

    Lately she sang in Auchland Marie / Marietta in a concert perfomance of Korngold’s Die tote Stadt.

    Until 2011 she was a member of the ensemble at Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she returned to many times since then.

    She has developed an international reputation as one of the leading interpreters of the operas by Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner, but also of the operas written by Korngold, Schreker or Zemlinsky.

    She performed roles such as Kaiserin, Salome, Marschallin, Chrysothemis, Danae and Daphne by Richard Strauss or Senta, Elisabeth/Venus, Elsa, Sieglinde and Irene in Rienzi by Richard Wagner at the opera houses in Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, Budapest, Munich, Dresden, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Copenhagen, Hongkong, Vienna (Theater an der Wien), Rome, Nice, Sevilla, Montpellier, Beijing, Prague, Bilbao, Taipeh, Hamburg, Palermo and at the Festival of Baden-Baden.

    Lately she was heard as Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten and as Isabella in Wagner’s Liebesverbot in Leipzig, in the title role of Salome in Helsinki.

    She works with orchestras such as Santa Cecilia Rome, Berliner Philharmonic Gulbenkian Orquestra, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Ulsterorchestra Belfast, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Munich Philharmonic, Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, Sinfonica de Galicia, Bamberg Symphonic New Japan Philharmonic in Tokio, Freiburger Barockorchester, Orchestra Auturo Toscanini, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and performed at the concert halls of Los Angeles Beijing, Tokyo, Hongkong, Rome, Parma, Milan, Vienna, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Munich, Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Bonn, Dresden, Madrid, Belfast, Lissabon, La Coruna, at the Rheingaufestival, at the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon, at the Strauss Festival Budapest, at the Ruhrtriennale, at the Festival of the Lake of Konstanz at the Handel Festivals in Halle and Karlsruhe and at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.

    Lately she was heard with Mahler’s 8th symphony at the Herrenhausen Festival and with Hindemith’s Das Unaufhörliche at the Brucknerhaus in Linz.

    Manuela Uhl is working regularly with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Riccardo Chailly, Donald Runnicles, Antonio Pappano, Gustavo Dudamel, Kent Nagano, Semyon Bychkov, Lorin Maazel, Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos, Marek Janowski, Peter Schneider, Sebastian Weigle, Pinchas Steinberg, Stefan Soltesz, Bertrand de Billy, Jonathan Nott or Roland Kluttig.

    Many recordings on cd or dvd as well as many radio broadcasts are documenting her career.
